Toine Culot, aldus Arthur Masson&#8217;s held, is een Ardeense dikzak, de held van een sage die is ontsproten aan zijn verbeelding, gevoed door vele observaties van zijn directe omgeving.<\/p>\n<p>Een hele kleine wereld draait om Toine, die burgemeester van Trignolles wordt: Tchouf-tchouf, de dokter, Adh\u00e9mar Pestiaux, de drogist, Abb\u00e9 Hautecoeur, en T. D\u00e9ome, de neef en gemeentesecretaris, graanhandelaar en cantoramateur &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Romanschrijver, die lange tijd aarzelt tussen po\u00ebzie en verhalen vertellen, diep optimistisch; zijn directe, heldere, kleurrijke stijl doet vaak een beroep op Waalse uitdrukkingen. Hij aarzelt niet om de literaire stijl te vermengen met gesproken taal.<\/p>\n<p>Vaak beschouwd als de Waalse Pagnol, vertelt hij met gevoel en humor het leven en de nederige mensen van het
